Recognizing Fear When Contemplating Change
Fear is one of the most basic human emotions. It’s programmed into the nervous system to equip us with the survival instincts to respond with fear when we sense danger or feel unsafe. When we entertain the idea of making a change of any kind in our lives, our sense of safety is immediately tested and can automatically trigger a feeling of fear. This week on Journeys Through Change (formerly known as Go Go Bistro), I am talking about recognizing fear when contemplating change!
In this episode, I discuss:
- How fear disguises itself.
- The different types of fear that show up when change is on the horizon.
- How to let our curiosity take the lead over our fears.
- An exercise you can use to help replace fear with curiosity.
Always remember: deciding to make a change is a commitment to yourself to not only think bigger for your life but to step into a braver version of yourself.
